Have you a code reader to see if there are any diagnostic trouble codes (DTC’s) ?
It could be one of many things, VCV , cylinder head temperature sensor, crank sensor , fuel filter, injectors etc. DTC’s or absence of DTCs helps narrow things down. |

No DTC's.
When my garage serviced the Defender back in February, they tried to find the source of the issue, but couldn't find it. They told me that there were no DTC's. |

Potentially a VCV then, they do cause all manor of problems on the 2.4 without any DTC’s being triggered. There are a lot of topics on here regarding vcv issues, how to replace them, and that you need to find a genuine source of a genuine Denso VCV.

Have a read of this topic, it seems to be the same issue you are having and it was the VCV. https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic82418-15.html
Worth checking with BAS to see when he has a vcv in stock, https://bellautoservices.co.uk/store/defen...our-valve/ Details of Denso part number https://www.defender2.net/forum/post872880.html |
